Just outside Kuching, Sarawak, after a one hour drive and a thirty minute boat ride upriver, Ngapuh Homestead feels like stepping into a different pace of living.

Hosted by Lelem and Lottie, a Bidayuh–British couple, the homestead blends traditional design with contemporary architecture, all co-created with the Bidayuh community.

Built using their Modular House System, the farmhouse is inspired by Bidayuh vernacular homes. The result is a warm, open-plan space that reflects craftsmanship, collaboration and a shared vision for sustainable living in the rainforest.

Here, the Bidayuh community welcomes you into their everyday world. Expect river crossings, forest walks, quiet moments by the water and home-cooked meals that come straight from the land.

Every stay contributes to the restoration of the landscape, from tree planting to riverbank protection. Ngapuh Homestead is a true rainforest home built from the heart, where culture, community and design come together to protect and share a way of life.
