Xperience Sthlm
📍Stockholm, Sweden

At a time when many city tours still revolve around crowded landmarks and surface level sightseeing, XperienceSthlm offers a more authentic way to experience Stockholm.
What makes XperienceSthlm different from most city operators is the kind of experiences they choose to create.
One day you might find yourself thrifting through Stockholm’s second hand scene, another joining a literary experience with author Lola Akinmade, exploring Scandinavian architecture and design, wandering through urban art spaces, or heading out into the archipelago and forests surrounding the city.
It feels less like ticking off attractions and more like being introduced to the different layers of Stockholm through the people who call it home.
The company also works closely with local creatives, artisans, small business owners, and women led initiatives across the city. So while travellers get a more interesting experience of Stockholm, the experiences themselves stay connected to the communities and people behind them too.
Majority women led and locally owned, XperienceSthlm began with six founders, Francisca, Louisa, Don, Oscar, Sanchia, and Tanya, many of whom previously worked as guides within the tourism industry. Together, they wanted to move away from generic tourism experiences and create something that felt more personal, community focused and reflective of the Stockholm they themselves know and love.
It is the kind of travel experience that reminds you cities are not just collections of attractions but communities of people who shape how a place is experienced.

In this week’s What’s Hot & What’s Not, meet Bridget, a solo traveler by passion and remote travel specialist by trade.
When not helping others navigate the logistics of European railways for flight-free travel company Byway Travel, you'll find Bridget capturing insights and experiences that reflect slow and immersive travel through photography, design and and travel writing.
She believes the best part of travel is rediscovering a sense of home somewhere new and is always searching for new and exciting projects in the sustainable/regenerative travel space.

🔥 What’s Hot
Railway travel, cycling & walking tours, the Balkans, weekend getaways, exploring your own country, detox cabins, roadtrips, camper van rentals, home swapping, pack lunches and shopping local markets, shoulder seasons, mountains, lakes, sending postcards, overnight ferries, turning off the phone, antique markets, trying a new language, allowing for spontaneity, rural co-livings, agri-tourism, leading with curiosity, embracing the unknown, fewer stops, longer stays, and packing light.
❄️ What’s Not
Short haul flights that could have been trains, Airbnb, hyper-curated itineraries, over packing, performative travel & "doing it for the 'gram", chain hotels, big cities in summer 🥵🌡️ , crowded Christmas markets, assuming air conditioning is a universal standard, influencer recommendations, foreign transaction fees, "Must see" listicles, overpriced festivals, and following the crowd.
🤫 Hidden Spot
ROORAL (@rooral.co)
📍Málaga, Spain
