In partnership with

Woohoo! We’re hosting our first online event with Velout on 20 November 2025.

This is for anyone who believes travel can be a force for good, even if you're still figuring out what that means (truthfully, all of us are!).

We're keeping the session intentionally small (4 spots out of 25 left).

Because we want to have a dialogue with like-minded travellers and not another webinar where everyone’s on mute.

If this speaks to you, we’d love to meet you virtually 🥰

Onto this week’s edition…

To travel is to take a journey into yourself

- Danny Kaye

🍄 Edible Bali: Discover the plants, wisdom and seasonal knowledge passed down through generations by foraging in Bali.

💅🏻 Young, wild and free: London is opening the world’s first Museum of Youth Culture, dedicated to youth, music, style and subculture.

🦌 Do, a deer: If The Sound of Music lives in your heart, you can visit the family resort, where the last living von Trapp child still helps run it today.

💼 For job seekers: Our friends Remote Rebellion is looking for a 100% fully remote Senior Sales Consultant to help people design lives of freedom and purpose.

Lum Orng

📍Siem Reap, Cambodia

Tucked down a quiet dirt road just outside Siem Reap, Lum Orng is the kind of hidden gem you only hear about from someone who has actually been. The setting is calm, surrounded by fields and absolutely worth the journey from town.

Lum Orng is Cambodia’s first farm to table restaurant, led by chef and owner Sothea Seng.

Here he cooks what he calls New Mekong Cuisine, dishes rooted in Cambodian heritage but shaped by the flavours, plants and food traditions shared across the Mekong region. The menu changes constantly, guided by produce from his own farm across the road, nearby markets and local growers.

In Khmer, Lum Orng means pollen, the grain that carries life from one place to another. It symbolises renewal, seasonality and the passing of knowledge from one generation to the next.

What you taste here is not just flavour. It is the land, the seasons and the hands that tended it. Lum Orng shows how food can keep tradition alive and reminds us that food is culture.
