Beach house playlist, mulberry in South Korea, what's hot & what's not with Sarah, a cultural branding expert

“What we find exotic abroad may be what we hunger for in vain at home.”
- Alain de Botton

At Mano Beach House, vibes come first, and the playlist never misses a beat. Mano is the only locally owned “beach club” in Bali, Indonesia and they’re all about that slow living island life. Save this playlist for your next barefoot, sun-soaked adventure.

Take the bite out of rising vet costs with pet insurance
Veterinarians across the country have reported pressure from corporate managers to prioritize profit. This incentivized higher patient turnover, increased testing, and upselling services. Pet insurance could help you offset some of these rising costs, with some providing up to 90% reimbursement.

Ire Mulberry Farm
📍Buan, South Korea
Website | Instagram | Google Maps
Ire Mulberry Farm is rewriting what rural tourism can look like, part nature escape, part community hub, and all heart.
Spread across organically nurtured land, it’s a place where you can wander through mulberry groves, cook what you harvest, and let your inner child loose in a handmade eco-playground built from recycled materials.
The magic behind it all? Yeonmi Park (aka Heidi), a woman who defied the odds to build Ire from the ground up. Told that women couldn’t run a farm, she did it anyway, creating a care farm where young people, people with disabilities, and local residents come together to grow food, build community, and shape futures. From seasonal harvests to social farming programs, this isn’t just a farm, it’s a blueprint for a more grounded way to live and travel.
Ire Farm shows us that when tourism is rooted in real community needs, it doesn’t just create experiences, it creates futures.
This week’s gem was recommended by none other than our What’s Hot & What’s Not real traveller of the week, Sarah 👇🏻

In this week’s What’s Hot & What’s Not by real travellers like yourself, say Hi to Sarah, a cultural branding expert.
As a Nigerian-American, Sarah is obsessed with cultural exploration. But during her travels, she’ve seen too many ethical, locally-owned businesses struggle to get noticed. That’s why Sarah started Cultured Creative - a branding studio that helps responsible tourism brands clarify their strategy, tell a stronger sustainability story, and build identities that attract the right guests without losing sight of purpose or profit.

🔥 What’s Hot
dancing with strangers in a remote village, saying yes to last-minute plans, volunteering on a farm, learning a bit of the local language, temple stays, trying local market food stalls, scheduling time to do nothing, eating with locals, staying in one place for longer, enjoying cultural performances, journaling while traveling, fellow travelers turning into friends.
❄️ What’s Not
expecting locals to speak English, "doing" many countries in a few weeks, tipping without researching if it's ok, describing local culture as weird, traveling just for photo ops, petting wild animals, no water refills at airports, and asking the question "have you even visited [country name] if you didn't do [the popular thing everyone's doing]?"
