Smack in the heart of Seminyak, FED isn’t just serving food, it’s serving up a new era of Bali dining.

Founded by three under-30 Balinese friends, this homegrown hotspot is more than a restaurant, it’s a statement, showing that the next generation is here to cook, create, and claim their place in Bali’s dining scene.

Chef Made Dhanu, who grew up in Seminyak and trained in Melbourne, returned home during the pandemic to open FED in the very same space where his mum once ran a humble canteen. Together with friends Nik and Kai, they’ve built a modern bistro rooted in local pride, sustainable principles, and creativity.

Think set menus packed with punchy, produce-forward dishes, playful cocktails, and DJ sets on some nights. They’re putting young Balinese talent in the spotlight and we’re here for every bite!

📍You’ll find this restaurant (and more that actually matter) in TRAppe’s upcoming Bali e-guide. Sign up for the waitlist and get first dibs when we drop on 17 June.

Could you afford $3,500 to remove a chew toy?

From $3,500 to remove a chew toy, to $7,000 for a hip replacement, keeping your pets healthy is getting more and more expensive. Fortunately, pet insurance can help offset these rising costs. Pet insurance can cover eligible accidents and illnesses with up to 90% reimbursement. Get your buddy covered today with plans starting at just $10 a month.

In this week’s What’s Hot & What’s Not by real travellers like yourself, say Hi to Claudia, a fashion insider turned conscious traveller.

After quitting her fashion job in Barcelona, Claudia fulfilled her biggest life-long dream; travelling around Australia, which led her to understand that the world is too big to sit in an office in a 9 to 5. Since then, she has continued discovering the world with a new-found consciousness.

🔥 What’s Hot

getting lost, learning local words, falling in love with strangers, homestays, local fruits and veggies, stops on the road, booking on site, unplanned day trips, long train rides, spiritual retreats, loosing flights on purpose, casually bumping into people you met a few days ago.

❄️ What’s Not

local markets turned into mass-produced souvenirs sellers, tourist traps, taking pictures in general, big stores, thinking you've already seen it all.
